Industrial and high tech manufacturers are challenged by the need to control cost while supporting growth.   Short lead times, market volatility and limited demand visibility put a premium on supply chain agility.  Yet a recent Gartner survey finds that over 60% of companies are still pursuing traditional objectives like efficiency or responsiveness in designing a response to demand.  Supply chain agility is still viewed as a scheduling and manufacturing issue.
